PCY STEAM Night
PCY STEAM night is a special event filled with activities and demos to help get kids excited about all things STEAM! Sponsored by the PTA and organized by parent volunteers, STEAM night is currently hosted once in the fall and again in the spring. The first STEAM night of the year took place on November 12, 2025. Many thanks to everyone who stopped by! And a special shout-out to all the volunteers who helped make the STEAM nights happen. Keep an eye out for more fun STEAM events next school year!

- "Blasting Off! Rockets, Spacheships, and Why Space is Awesome" - presentation by Dr. Talin Ayvazian (Aerospace Corporation)
- "Space, and Your Place In It" - presentation by Sirina Nabhan (NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory)
- "Special Time: Strengthening the Parent-Child Bond" - presentation by Dr. Violet Mesrkhani (Harmony Psychotherapy, Inc.)
- Telescopes made available by Carnegie Observatories - kids were able to view the Sun, Jupiter, and other celestial objects right from PCY!
- Open Source Rover project - build your own rover using store-bought materials

City of STEM Festival & LA Maker Faire
On April 26th, join us for City of STEM + Los Angeles Maker Faire—the official science festival of Los Angeles County!
Southern California's largest celebration of science, making, creativity, invention, and fun will be free and open to the public with hands-on activities, amazing experiences, workshops, lectures and appearances by famous creators and science celebrities! This event reflects the diversity of the greater Los Angeles region and promotes access to science and creativity for all! This event is a combination of City of STEM and Los Angeles Maker Faire. The event will also include content in Spanish.
City of STEM + Los Angeles Maker Faire is a FREE, non-ticketed event. All are welcome.
SCaLE: The Next Generation
The Southern California Linux Expo, or SCaLE is an annual open source tech conference held in Pasadena every March. In recent years, they have established a youth track at the conference called SCaLE: The Next Generation (TNG) to allow students in grades 6-12 to participate in the conference and showcase their ideas to the open-source community. The event will take place at the Pasadena Convention Center on Saturday, March 7, from 11am to 5pm. More information can be found at the link below.
